The peaceful St Josephs Aged Care Facility Kensington is a unique 43-bed residential home operated by nuns, adjacent to their convent and school, catering specifically to faith-based practitioners who have dedicated their lives to helping those in need. Similarly, the facility is dedicated to sustaining and nurturing their continuing spiritual needs.

This newly-created position is testament to the Sisters’ caring philosophy and excellent reputation, to ensure appropriate initiatives that enable better care and lifestyle experiences for the residents.

With a background in health or aged care, you’re an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator who understands not only quality and continuous improvement, but the education that underpins them.

You also have:

  • Experience in connecting audits with quality and education development, delivery and monitoring
  • The ability to work well with a close-knit team
  • Excellent computer skills and systems orientation
  • The capability to ensure compliance and high-quality care
  • The ability to develop a deep understanding of the facility’s faith-based culture and way of life
  • A working knowledge of the Aged Care and/or Healthcare Standards and compliance
  • A customer-service focus with a commitment to enhancing lifestyle, wellness and care services to residents

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, who is a Sister, your responsibilities include:

  • Creating an appropriate quality and improvement focus for staff that aligns with residents’ beliefs and ministering of religious practice
  • Working with the Board clinical governance committee to develop, deliver and coordinate education and induction programs for staff, outsourcing where appropriate
  • Building capability in RN and AIN team care practice
  • Conducting and utilising audit data and trend analysis to create an audit schedule that informs education programs
  • Maintaining a quality assurance program
